Internal Examinations

How will pupil progress be monitored and reported during the year?

During the year, pupils complete five formal assessments in each of their subjects.  These tests help the teacher to predict the grade pupils will achieve at the end of the year (KS3) and end of the course (GCSE)

At the start of each half-term, we send a report card home.  For each subject, the report card shows:

  • The target grade – this is the grade pupils should aim to achieve in the subject by the end of the year (KS3) course (GCSE)
  • The predicted grade – this is the grade the teacher thinks the pupil will achieve in the subject at the end of the year (based on current progress)

•    These grades use the 9 – 1 grading system
