Pupils celebrate GCSE success

Pupils are celebrating their GCSE results today which were awarded in recognition of their hard work throughout their courses.

GCSE exams were cancelled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but despite the uncertainty in the run-up to today’s results, pupils at the school still found reason to celebrate.

Ebrahim Gangat’s dedication to his studies helped him to gain eight grade 9s – the highest GCSE grade. The pupil, who teachers say worked with tremendous effort throughout his course, will continue his studies at Newman College where he will study A Levels in Maths, Physics and Geography.

The hard work and dedication of Head Boy, Yusuf Bapu, resulted in him being awarded seven grade 9s. Yusuf will study A-Levels in Maths, Economics and History at Lancaster Grammar School. For talented pupil Hasanat Khan, who achieved seven grade 9s, his GCSE results mean that he will be able to continue his passion for maths and the sciences at Lancaster Grammar School. The talented pupil will be studying A Levels in Maths, Biology and Chemistry at the prestigious school. The school’s Deputy Head Boy, Rafee Chowdhury, was awarded six grade 9s and is delighted to be able to take up his place at Nelson and Colne College. Rafee will study A Levels in Maths, Biology and Chemistry.

Nafisa Patel, Principal at the school, said: “We are incredibly proud of our pupils who continue to aspire to greatness and succeed in spite of recent challenges.

“We are grateful to all our parents and staff who have all helped to support our pupils throughout their time at Eden Boys’ School, Preston. We know that our pupils have wonderful futures ahead of them and we look forward to hearing about their future successes.”
